The Mauritius Ports Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the filling of vacancies in the following grades:

1. POST	MANAGER, PORT OPERATIONS (ON CONTRACT BASIS)
SALARY	Negotiable
(A) QUALIFICATIONS	A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or passes in at least two subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’
	Bachelor Degree in Logistics & Transport Management or Management or Business Management or Logistics & Supply Chain Management or Economics or Member of Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (UK) (By Examinations) or equivalent
	Masters in Business Administration or Masters in Port Management & Shipping Administration or equivalent
EXPERIENCE	At least 7 years’ experience in Transport and Logistics out of which 3 years should be in port environment at a Senior position
OR
(B) QUALIFICATIONS	Certificate of competency as a Foreign-going Master Class I unlimited as per STCW 1978 as amended
	Masters in Business Administration or Masters in Port Management & Shipping Administration or equivalent
EXPERIENCE	At least 5 years’ experience in Port Sector at a senior position

2. POST	SENIOR TECHNICIAN (TUG SERVICES)
SALARY SCALE	Rs. 25,300 x 800 – 26,900 x 900 – 27,800 x 1,000 – 31, 800 x 1,300 – 37,000 x 1,400 – 52,400
A. QUALIFICATIONS	Proof of Secondary Schooling up to School Certificate
	Certificate as Able Seafarer Engine as per STCW 1978 as amended
EXPERIENCE	At least 3 years’ experience as Able Seafarer Engine on vessel of not less than 3000 kw
OR
(B) QUALIFICATIONS	Proof of literacy
	Certificate as Able Seafarer Engine as per STCW 1978 as amended
EXPERIENCE	At least 6 years’ experience as Able Seafarer Engine on vessel of not less than 3000 kw
AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY	Candidates should not have reached their 55^th birthday by the closing date for the submission of applications.
	Note: Consideration may also be given to candidates of 55 years of age or above for employment on contract basis

3. POST	SEAMAN
SALARY SCALE	Rs. 18,600 x 600 – 19,800 x 700 – 20,500 x 800 – 26,900 x 900 – 27,800 x 1,000 – 31,800 x 1,300 -34,400
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE	Certificate as Able Seafarer Deck as per Standard Training Certificate of Watch-Keeping 1978 as amended with at least 3 years’ of sea-going experience
	OR
	Able Bodied (AB) Certificate with 3 years’ sea-going experience
	OR
	Efficient Deck Hand (EDH) Certificate with 4 years’ sea-going experience
	OR
	Certificate issued under the provisions of the International Convention on STCW for Seafarers 1978 as amended in 1995 (Reg II/4) with at least 12 months’ sea going experience
AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY	Candidates should be 55 years of age or below by the closing date of submission of applications Note: Consideration may be given to candidates above 55 years of age for employment on contract basis

Candidates should submit their application on the prescribed MPA application form which may be obtained at the Reception Counter of the MPA, Ground Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis. The duly filled application forms should be forwarded to the Director General at the above address.

The closing date for the submission of applications in respect of the above mentioned posts is Wednesday 10 February 2021.

Candidates should attach documentary evidence of work experience claimed failing which consideration would not be given to the application.

The onus for the submission of equivalence of qualifications from relevant authorities’ rests on the candidates in respect of the post of Manager, Port Operations (On Contract Basis).

Only the best qualified candidates will be convened for interview. Late applications will not be considered.
