The Mauritius Ports Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified Rodriguan candidates for the filling of vacancy in the grade of PORT SUPERVISOR, PORT MATHURIN.

SALARY SCALE

:

Rs. 37,000 x 1,400 – 55,200 x 2,000 – 57,200 x 2,300 – 64,100 x 3,400 – 74,300

A.

(I) QUALIFICATIONS

:

(i)

A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or passes in at least two subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’

 

 

 

(ii)

Diploma in Management or Business Management or Logistics & Transport or Port Management & Shipping Administration or equivalent

 

(II) EXPERIENCE

:

At least 5 years’ post qualification experience in administrative field, out of which 3 years should be at a senior position

 

OR

 

 

B.

(I) QUALIFICATIONS

:

Certificate of Competency (CoC3) Deck Officer or Certificate of Competency as Skipper of fishing vessel of not less than 24m issued by Directorate of Shipping

 

(II) EXPERIENCE

:

At least 10 years’ sea-going experience, out of which 3 years should be as Senior officer

AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY

:

Candidates should be 40 years of age or below by the closing

date of submission of applications

Note:  Candidate holding the qualifications at (A) but not possessing required experience at (A) may also be considered for employment on a contract basis provided the applicant reckons at least 2 years’ experience in administrative field at middle management level.

Candidates should submit their applications on the prescribed MPA application form obtainable from the MPA Office, Port Mathurin, Rodrigues and at the Reception Counter of the MPA, Ground Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis.  The duly filled application forms should be forwarded to the Director General at the Mauritius Ports Authority, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis or at the Mauritius Ports Authority Office, Port Mathurin, Rodrigues.
  2. The Notice of Vacancy and the MPA Application Form as well as other details regarding qualifications, duties etc. are available on the website of the Mauritius Ports Authority at www.mauport.com
  1. The closing date for the submission of applications in respect of the abovementioned post is 1 March 2021.
  1. Candidates should attach written evidence of work experience claimed failing which consideration would not be given to the application.
  1. The onus for the submission of equivalence of qualifications from the relevant authorities rests on the candidates.
  1. Only the best qualified candidates will be convened for interview.  Late applications will not be considered.
