The Mauritius Ports Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the filling of vacancies in the grade of :

 

 1.   POST

:

SKIPPER

 

      SALARY SCALE

:

Rs 42,600 x 1,400 - 55,200 x 2,000 - 57,200 x 2,300-

64,100 x 3,400 - 74, 300 x 4,600 - 83,500

 
  1.  QUALIFICATIONS

:

Certificate of Competency as Skipper of Fishing vessel of more than 24 meters in length issued by the Directorate of Shipping or Certificate of Competency (CoC 3) unlimited to serve as deck officer on cargo vessel as per STCW 1978 as amended

 

  EXPERIENCE

:

At least 2 years as Skipper on a fishing vessel OR 2 years as officer of watch on cargo vessel engaged in International trade

OR

 

 
 
  1.  QUALIFICATIONS

:

Second Mate Certificate of Competency Class III unlimited

 

EXPERIENCE

:

At least three years’ experience in watch-keeping

 

AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY

:

Candidates should be 55 years of age or below by the closing date of submission of applications

 

Note: Consideration may be given to candidates above 55 years of age for employment on   contract basis

SUPERINTENDENT, MECHANICAL SERVICES

 

 

 

SALARY SCALE

:

Rs 34,400 x 1,300 - 37,000 x 1,400 - 55,200 x 2,000 - 57,200 x 2,300 - 64,100 x 3,400 - 74,300

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

:

(i)

A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or passes in at least two subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’

 

 

 

 

 

(ii)

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

 

 

 

EXPERIENCE

:

At least 5 years’ post qualification experience

 

 

 

AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY

:

Candidates should be 45 years of age or below by the closing date of submission of applications.

  1. Candidates should attach documentary evidence of qualifications and work experience claimed failing which consideration would not be given to the application.
