Crown Princess

On 19 June 2025, Port Louis welcomed the majestic Crown Princess for the very first time, marking a significant milestone for Mauritius as a prime cruise destination in the Indian Ocean. Operated by Princess Cruises, the 290-metre vessel gracefully berthed at the Port Louis Cruise Terminal for the first time with approximately 3000 passengers on board.

In line with maritime tradition, a customary plaque exchange ceremony was held aboard to commemorate the maiden call of the cruise vessel. A commemorative shield was presented to the ship’s captain by the Chairman, Mr. Maurice Allet, who in turn was presented with a plaque from the ship’s master. The delegation from the MPA, comprised the chairman, Mr. Maurice Allet and the Deputy Director-General, Mr. Goburdhone.

The Crown Princess departed Port Louis later the same day to continue its voyage to the next destination, the port of Cape Town. The cruise vessel is visiting 20 ports as part of the 114-Day World Cruise roundtrip across the world from Auckland, New Zealand and back.

The Mauritius Ports Authority is honoured to have welcomed Crown Princess as the last cruise ship for the 2024/2025 season and looks forward to hosting more grand cruise liners in the future.
