The Honorable Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, inaugurated the 'Port-Louis Cruise Terminal' on December 11, 2023, in the presence of several members of the Government, the management of the Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA), and other distinguished guests.

Mauritius now boasts a modern cruise terminal, which further strengthens the position of Port Louis Harbour as the leading cruise hub in the Indian Ocean. The 'Port Louis Cruise Terminal' can accommodate peak traffic of up to 4,000 passengers.

Requiring an investment of approximately Rs. 900 million, the cruise terminal, with an operational area of 7,500 square meters, is equipped with adequate facilities that provide service of international standards, ensuring a seamless embarkation and disembarkation experience for cruise passengers.

The facility includes immigration, customs, and health services to enhance passenger transit efficiency. Special attention has also been given to passenger safety. The cruise terminal also features parking areas for approximately 120 vehicles, with designated spaces for buses, taxis, and other vehicles.

The operation of the 'Port Louis Cruise Terminal' is a significant milestone for Mauritius, which will undoubtedly contribute to further boosting our tourism industry and consolidating Port Louis' position as the regional hub for cruises in the Indian Ocean.
