This is to notify that, following the bidding exercise carried out by the Mauritius Ports Authority for the Consultancy Services for the Procurement of Floating Craft (Reference No: Contract MPA 437/2019), the contract has been awarded to Keel Marine Ltd of Ridgeway Office Park, Units 6-8, Bedford Road, Petersfield, Hants, GU32 3QF, United Kingdom for the corrected sum of Pound Sterling Two Hundred and Two Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety only (GBP 202,890) plus Provisional Sum of Rupees One Million, exclusive of VAT.

GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS AND SURVEYS AT FORT WILLIAM

Contract: MPA 467/2020

The Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA) is pleased to invite sealed bids from local and overseas bidders for Geotechnical Investigations and Surveys at Fort William as more fully described in the bidding document.

The scope of works includes inter-alia:

A. Survey works: -

• Bathymetric survey of the approaches to Port Louis; Port Louis entrance and navigation channel; and Caudan basin;
• Topographic survey of Fort William reclamation, including existing reclaimed platform and revetment structures.

B.  Geotechnical investigations: -

• Drilling of landside borehole
• Drilling of marine boreholes
• Excavation of test pits
• In-situ and laboratory tests

Qualification requirements

• The Contractor must hold a valid registration with CIDB for civil Engineering Works.

• The Bidder shall also demonstrate that it meets experience as prime contractor in a minimum of two works of a nature and complexity equivalent to the Works over a period of five years.
• Other qualifying criteria mentioned in the bid document.

After receipt of payment, the Mauritius Ports Authority will send the bidding document to the bidder via email. Bidders are requested to communicate their email address and proof of payment to the Mauritius Ports Authority via email at info@mauport.com for transmission of the bidding document.

Submission of bids

One original and 2 copies of the bid (in hard copies only) must be submitted in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders in sealed envelopes, clearly marked “Contract MPA 467/2020- Geotechnical Investigations and Surveys at Fort William” which should be addressed to the Director General, Mauritius Ports Authority, 1st Floor, H. Ramnarain Building Mer Rouge, Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius.

Deadline for the submission of bids

Bids should be either deposited in the bid box located in the Chief Officer’s Office, Mauritius Ports Authority, 1^st Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis, Mauritius or submitted by registered post or courier so as to reach the Mauritius Ports Authority on or before Tuesday 17 March 2020 up to 14.00 hrs. (local time) at latest.  

Bids will be opened on the same day at 14.15 hrs. (local time) in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.

Bids received after the specified closing date and time will not be considered.

Pre- Bid Meeting

A pre-bid site visit has been scheduled for Tuesday 18 February 2020 at 10.00 hrs. (local time). The meeting place is the Conference Room of the Mauritius Ports Authority at Ground Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius.

The MPA reserves the right to

1. accept or reject any bid; and
2. to annul the bidding process and reject all bids at any time prior to the award of the contract as per provision of Section 39 (1) of the Public Procurement Act 2006.

Project Title:  Mini Soccer Pitch and Cloakroom

Scope of Contract: Main scope of works includes, but is not limited to the following:

1. Construction of a mini-soccer pitch of size 44m x 22m with synthetic (artificial) turfing, inclusive of goal posts, line markings and internal walkway.
2. Construction of block wall boundary wall around the periphery of the mini-soccer pitch together with a 4.5m high chain-link fencing and with the provision of access gates.
3. Provision of lighting facilities through light masts with LED luminaries.
4. Construction of a ground + 1 cloakroom building.
5. Construction of parking space in front of the mini-soccer pitch.

An additional fee of Mauritian Rupees one thousand only (MUR 1,000.00) or US Dollars Thirty-five only (US$ 35.00) or Euro Twenty –five only (Euro 25) shall be charged to Applicants who wish to have the request for prequalification documents air freighted/couriered to them. However, the MPA would not be held liable for delays/non-receipt of the air-freighted/couriered documents due to default of the courier service.
