In this respect, the MPA invites bids from potential buyers for the purchase of the above vehicle on an “as is where is “ basis.
The vehicle may be viewed at the MPA Workshop, Mer Rouge during weekdays from 0800 hours to 1400 hours. For any additional information, the Transport Office may be contacted on phone no. 206 5515/52506228
Bids, in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Director-General, MPA and clearly marked “Sale of Vehicle” should be deposited in the Tender Box located at the Chief Officers’ Office, 1st Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis not later than Wednesday 10 August 2022 at 1400 hours (Local time). Offers received after the specified closing date and time will not be considered.
Bids should remain valid for a period of 90 days after the closing date and be accompanied by a security, in the form of a Bank Cheque equivalent to 10% of the total bid price. Bids not so secured will not be accepted.
The successful bidder shall be required to effect full payment of the quoted sum and arrange to take delivery of the vehicle within 5 days from the date of award.
The MPA reserves the right to accept or reject any offer and to cancel the above exercise at any time prior to award without thereby incurring any liability to affected bidder(s).

The Tug was built under Lloyds Class.

The vessel is available at Port Louis Harbour for inspection by any potential buyer. Request for inspection should be made to the Port Master on email address k.newoor@mauport.com or by fax on +230 242 8314.
Any clarification or additional information sought by any prospective bidder should be addressed to the Director-General on info@mauport.com or by fax on +230 240 0856 at least fourteen (14) days before the deadline for the submission of bids.
Bids shall remain valid for a period of 90 days as from the closing date.
Bids should be made on a no VAT basis and quoted in Mauritian Rupees or USD or Euro. The price shall be firm and fixed till the end of the validity period. No claim shall be entertained by the MPA in respect of any increase in costs such as handling, labour, transport etc. which may come into force during this sale exercise.
Bids should be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a Bank Cheque or Bank Guarantee from a recognized local commercial bank or international bank through a correspondent bank located in Mauritius equivalent to 10% of the total bid price. Bids not so secured will not be accepted.
Payment shall be made for the full amount due within fifteen (15) calendar days after issue of the Letter of Acceptance.
Delivery or collection of the tug and spares shall start the next day after the payment has been effected.
