The Port Emergency Services is the Unit of the MPA that attends to any emergency situations in the port. The Unit operates round the clock and is equipped to deal with emergencies ranging from ship and building fires, to oil spills at sea and on land within the port jurisdiction.

  • Much emphasis is focused on preventive tasks like hot works controls, bunkering monitoring, and others.

  • The Unit also provides fire coverages during the unloading of bulk petroleum products to ensure safety of operations.

  • Other responsibilities include joint fire drills with port stakeholders, testing and maintenance of all firefighting devices and equipment including highly specialised oil pollution combat equipment and many others to maintain a safe port.
