Other Facilities
Wheat
A mobile pneumatic ship unloader is employed at Quay A/Quay D to discharge bulk wheat. The wheat is subsequently conveyed to the adjacent 16 storage silos, which have a combined capacity of 40,000 tonnes, for processing by Les Moulins de la Concorde Ltée.
Cement
Bulk cement handling operations at Quays No. 2 and 3 are carried out through pneumatic cement unloaders connected to a pipeline system, enabling discharge at an operational rate of approximately 300-500 tonnes per hour. The port is served by two nearby reception, storage and bagging facilities operated by Kolos Cement Ltd and Cementis Mauritius Ltd.
Kolos Cement Ltd has a storage capacity of 60,000 tonnes while Cementis Mauritius Ltd has a storage capacity of 35,500 tonnes, giving a combined total storage capacity of 95,500 tonnes.
