QUALIFICATIONS

:

Certificate of Competency as Skipper of Fishing vessel of more than 24 meters in length issued by the Directorate of Shipping or Certificate of Competency (CoC 3) unlimited to serve as deck officer on cargo vessel as per STCW 1978 as amended

EXPERIENCE

:

At least 2 years as Skipper on a fishing vessel /2 years as officer of watch on cargo vessel engaged in International trade

OR

(b)

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Second Mate Certificate of Competency Class III unlimited

EXPERIENCE

:

At least three years’ experience in watch-keeping

(i) A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or passes in at least two subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’

(ii) A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering

(iii) Registered with the Council of Registered Professional Engineers of Mauritius

EXPERIENCE

:

At least 3 years’ post registration experience in Civil Engineering or 2 years’ experience in Port Engineering

Note: Candidates holding the prescribed qualifications but not possessing the required experience may also be considered for employment on a contract basis provided the applicant reckons at least one year’s post registration experience.

A Cambridge School Certificate or Passes obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education ‘Ordinary Level’ either:

1. in five subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or

2. in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in anyone subject

OR

An equivalent qualification acceptable to the Authority.

Diploma in civil engineering or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

:

At least 2 years’ proven experience in civil engineering
