A delegation of the PAIOI headed by Mr Ramalingum Maistry also met with the Ambassador Maurice J. L. Loustau-Lalanne, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Aviation on 10 April 2018 to discuss the challenges facing the ports of the Indian ocean islands in the global context where the world is experiencing profound and complex changes. It was agreed that there exists a pre-requisite to establish, strong international ties to have a global presence as the world is becoming a small village. It therefore goes without saying that, since both Seychelles and Mauritius share a common destiny, it would be inspiring to strengthen the historical, cultural and industrial ties through industrial cooperation, transfer of technology, trade, and investment between the two ports. As there prevail commonalities in the culture and language, the establishment of cooperation would nurture mutual benefits not only between SPA and MPA but would also establish a strong trade harmony and understanding between the Republics of Seychelles and Mauritius.

The possibilities of a cooperative framework between the ports of Port Louis and Victoria in the fields of training were also discussed. The Chairman, Mr. Ramalingum Maistry took this opportunity to invite the Seychelles port Officials to visit the MPA.
