The Mauritius Ports Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the filling of the under-mentioned positions:

1.		POST	:		PILOT
		SALARY SCALE	:		Rs 48,200 x 1,400 - 55,200 x 2,000 - 57,200 x 2,300 - 64,100 x 3,400 - 74,300 x 4,600 - 97,300
		QUALIFICATIONS	:		Certificate of Competency as Foreign Going Master Class 1 unlimited as per STCW 1978 as amended
		EXPERIENCE	:		Proven experience as 1st mate on foreign-going vessels OR Proven Pilotage experience of 5 years
		AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY	:		Candidates should be 55 years of age or below by the closing date of submission of applications Note: Consideration for contractual employment may be given to applicants above 55 years of age and applications from foreign nationals

2.		POST	:		OFFICER, PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY
		SALARY SCALE	:		Rs 25,300 x 800 - 26,900 x 900 - 27,800 x 1,000- 31, 800 x 1,300- 37,000 x 1,400- 52,400
		QUALIFICATIONS	:		A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or passes in at least two subjects obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level’ A Diploma in Procurement and Supply or Accounting/ Finance or equivalent
		EXPERIENCE	:		At least 2 years’ experience in procurement /Inventory field
		AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY	:		Candidates should be 45 years of age or below by the closing date of submission of applications

3.		POST	:		SEAMAN
		SALARY SCALE	:		Rs 18,600 x 600 - 19, 800 x 700 - 20,500 x 800 - 26,900 x 900 - 27,800 x 1,000 -31,800 x 1,300 -34,400
	QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE		:	Certificate as Able Seafarer Deck as per Standard Training Certificate of Watch-Keeping 1978 as amended with at least 3 years’ of sea-going experience
				OR
				Able Bodied (AB) Certificate with 3 years’ sea-going experience
				OR
				Efficient Deck Hand (EDH) Certificate with 4 years’ sea-going experience
				OR
				Certificate issued under the provisions of the International Convention on STCW for Seafarers 1978 as amended in 1995 (Reg II/4) with at least 12 months’ sea going experience
	AGE LIMIT FOR ENTRY		:	Candidates should be 55 years of age or below by the closing date of submission of applications Note: Consideration may be given to candidates above 55 years of age for employment on contract basis

Candidates should submit their application on the prescribed MPA application form which may be obtained at the Reception Counter of the MPA, Ground Floor, H. Ramnarain Building, Mer Rouge, Port Louis. The duly signed forms should be forwarded to the Ag Director General at the above address.

The Notice of Vacancies and the MPA Application Form as well as other details regarding qualifications, duties, etc are available on the website of the Mauritius Ports Authority at www.mauport.com.

The closing date for the submission of applications in respect of the above-mentioned posts is Monday 20 February 2023.

Candidates should attach documentary evidence of qualifications and work experience claimed failing which consideration would not be given to the application.

The onus for the submission of equivalence of qualifications from relevant authorities rests on the candidates.

Only the best qualified candidates will be convened for interview. Late applications will not be considered.
